The Pitchers Restaurant Spring League at Foyle has reached the half way stage in the Qualifying section with teams having now returned their Fifth card and new leaders have emerged with team 15 John Jennings, Dermot Harkin, Mark Doherty and Jim Mc Fadden having returned an excellent score of 102pts for their fifth card and an accumulated total of 503pts take an eight point lead over the chasing pack.

Foyle Sunday Society held their re-scheduled Hamper Competition on Sunday last where the large turnout enjoyed favourable conditions with the Ballyarnett Course in remarkable condition after all the inclement weather of late, everything was in place for good scoring and 26 Handicapper Sean Mc Eleney obliged with an excellent score of 47pts for a three point winning margin.

DESMOND MOTORS WINTER LEAGUE FINAL
The Annual Desmond Motors Winter League at Foyle came to a conclusion on Tuesday last after the Final was played, where the eight Qualifying teams competed for the four prizes on offer, with the competitors getting a decent day and Team 9 Tommy Bradley, Stephen Powell, Lawerance Powell and Joe Bradley made full use of the conditions to return an excellent score of 96pts to win this coveted title with eight points to spare over their rivals.
Everyone at Foyle are deeply indebted to Desmond Motors for their generous and continued support of this event which has now reached Thirteen years and continues to be a very popular competition on the Club calendar.
A special thanks must go to competition co-ordinator Gerry Coyle for a job well done, thanks also to Robert and the shop staff and a special thanks to the Green keeping staff for keeping the course out in fine condition during the event even in some extreme weather conditions.
The Dinner and Prize Presentation will take place in Pitchers on Saturday 7th January where all competitors can avail of a complimentary meal with partners and friends very welcome at a very competitive rate to book please contact the golf reception.

The delayed Pairs Match play Final took place on Sunday last between Kevin Thomas & Kevin Crumley and Martin Campbell & Christy Coyle, with the two Kevins going into the Final as firm favourites even though Martin & Christy were not taking any notice of the bookmakers prices and after a pulsating and very competitive Final Martin Campbell & Christy Coyle closed out the match on the eighteenth green to become the Foyle 2011 Pairs Match Play Champions and in doing so saved the bookmakers a small fortune.
